How many holes should my Salt shaker have?

I have a plain white porcelain Salt and pepper set, one has 1 hole the other has several holes. I am currently using the 1 holed shaker for salt, but my boss (I run a bar in a hotel), has just told me to swap them over - What is the correct way?

your boss is a moron, 1 for salt, many for pepper.

if you switch them, you will have many unhappy customers.....
in fact why not do it and blame your boss?
